Isothermal Community College Bookstore Refund/Exchange Policy
CAMPUS STORE - REFUNDS AND RETURNS
Please read the Campus Store's refund and return policy carefully.
NO RECEIPT - NO REFUND
CURRICULUM TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks purchased in the bookstore must be returned to the Isothermal Campus Bookstore Store within five (5) business days from the start of the class for which the book was purchased. If students have purchased their books after the return period date and the class has already started, students will have five (5) business days from date of purchase for returns. Students must present the sales receipt at the time of return in order to receive a refund. All textbooks must be in new and resalable condition along with all components. Textbooks are not returnable if books have been written in or highlighted, shrink wrap has been removed, or pass code or CD has been opened or used. Purchases made using financial aid can only be returned/exchanged/refunded during financial aid open dates. If a student purchases a textbook during term 1 for term 2 and drops the class before term 2 starts, or the class is canceled, the student may bring the book back during term 2 open financial aid charging dates and return the book providing proof that the class has been dropped or changed. Students are responsible for checking what they receive in the bookstore against what is listed in their course syllabus and making any exchanges/returns during the open charge period. If an item is marked on the receipt as final sale, that item, regardless if it’s textbook, supplies, or other miscellaneous items, are non-returnable.
ONLINE RETURNS
Textbooks purchased online must be returned to the Isothermal Campus Bookstore or postmarked within five (5) business days from the start of class for which the book was purchased. Students are responsible for shipping back any returns at their cost and are encouraged to use a shipping method with tracking and insurance. If the shipment is lost in transit, it is not the responsibility of the bookstore. Late start classes will have five (5) business days to return from the start of class with proof of schedule. If students have bought their books after the return period date and the class has already started, they will have five (5) business days from the date of purchase for returns.
Contact bookstore@isothermal.edu immediately if there are wrong items in the shipment or the merchandise was damaged.
ONLINE ORDER PICK-UPS
All refund policies apply to all orders that were placed online as in-store pickup. We will email students three times, to remind and notify of pick-up. Please email bookstore@isothermal.edu to cancel and/or refund your online order. Orders not retrieved after 30 days will be re-stocked, and no refund will be granted.
Access Codes
If an access code is unmasked, they are non-returnable and will be marked on the receipt as a final sale item. If an access code is in a format where the code is not revealed, then those codes will follow the same policy as textbooks. They must show no signs of being tampered with and in resalable condition.
CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRADE BOOKS
Refunds of Continuing Education and trade books are five days from the date of purchase when the class is longer than 5 days. Start dates will be verified with Continuing Education. Students must present the sales receipt at time of return in order to receive a refund. All textbooks must be in new and resalable condition along with all components. Textbooks are not returnable if books have been written in or highlighting, shrink wrap has been removed, pass code or CD has been opened or used. If the class has started or the class has already taken place, no refunds will be issued. Textbooks purchased for classes lasting 5 days or less are non-returnable. These materials will be noted on the receipt as a final sale item.
SUPPLIES, BACKPACKS, APPAREL, GIFTS, STUDY AIDES AND GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Refunds or exchanges will be given within two weeks from the date of purchase with the exception of items purchased using financial aid. Any item purchased using financial aid can only be returned during financial aid charge periods. The sales receipt must be presented.
Special orders
Any orders that require pre-payment is non-returnable. This includes, but not limited to, Cosmetology kits, Esthetic kits, specialty books, and special-ordered merchandise.
COMPUTERS AND SOFTWARE
These items are not returnable. Computers may not be returned to the store for support. Please contact the manufacturer for all questions and support.
REFUND METHODS
Sales receipt is required for all returns or refunds. Refunds will be refunded in the same manner as the purchase when possible.
Credit card purchases will be refunded back to the credit card used for purchase. Financial aid or sponsorship charges will be returned back to the student’s account. If the original purchase was made using cash and the bookstore is able to issue a refund via cash, they will. However, if not enough cash is available then check and cash purchases will be returned by a check from the college business office, and may take up to three weeks to process.
Shipping costs are non-refundable.
